The Ulthera® SPT programme uses technology designed to deliver energy precisely to the target area, with settings adjusted to each skin layer. It may help reduce discomfort in some cases. It lifts the skin at a depth of 4.5mm, reaching the muscle layer (SMAS, superficial muscular aponeurotic system), the same layer addressed in a surgical facelift, using high intensity focused ultrasound.

Steps of the Ulthera® SPT Programme
- The doctor assesses and analyses your face in detail to prepare a treatment plan.
- Your face is scanned to analyse your skin health in detail.
- Your face is cleansed and a numbing cream is applied for about 45 to 60 minutes (this depends on each person, and some people may not need numbing cream).
- The doctor performs the Ulthera® SPT programme on the areas that you want to lift.
- The treatment takes about 30 to 60 minutes (this depends on each person).
How to Look After Yourself After the Ulthera® SPT Programme
- You can use your usual moisturiser after treatment. Apply sunscreen regularly.
- If you get swelling, tightness or tenderness, it will gradually improve. This happens because the heat reacts in the skin layers to tighten them.
- Avoid hot places and activities that involve heat for at least 4 days.
- Avoid smoking and drinking alcohol for at least 1 week to help the treatment work.
