Chin Augmentation for Balanced Facial Proportions
Balancing Your Face With Real Locking Chin Augmentation
Balancing your facial proportions. As well as rhinoplasty, forehead augmentation and eye surgery, chin augmentation is another important part of facial balance, especially for people with a protruding, short, large or small chin. These concerns may come from low confidence, an injury or an irregular facial structure, which is why chin augmentation can help reshape the chin.
Changing a short or round face to a slimmer, more balanced shape with Real Locking chin augmentation and a hidden incision

Who a Silicone Chin Implant Is Suitable For
- people with unbalanced facial proportions, a round or wide face, or a short chin
- people with a wide or narrow chin who want more balanced facial proportions
- people with a receding chin that does not balance with the nose, which makes the face look crooked
- people who have had chin augmentation before and are not happy with the shape
- both women and men with these concerns
Using modern technology, the doctors at S45 Clinic analyse and examine the chin in detail to check for other issues, such as a protruding or tilted jaw, bite problems or a size that is not in proportion with the face, and then choose a technique that suits each person.
Chin augmentation (chin surgery) helps reshape the face and is performed by our surgeons. The implant is designed to suit your facial structure, to add dimension and a slimmer, V-shaped, balanced look across the whole face.
Chin augmentation is a surgical procedure to reshape the chin or increase its size so it is in proportion with the face, for a softer look. It suits people with a short, receding, dimpled, pointed or crooked chin. It can generally be done in 2 ways, with a silicone implant or with filler injections. Chin augmentation with a silicone implant gives long-lasting results and lets the chin be shaped in detail to suit the face, and it has a lower chance of complications than filler injections.
Chin Augmentation With a Silicone Implant
We use medical-grade silicone that meets standards, and the surgeon carves the implant to suit each case for a soft, balanced face shape. Tell your surgeon in advance if you plan to have rhinoplasty or forehead augmentation after chin augmentation, so the surgeon can design a suitable shape and you do not need to have it reshaped later.
There Are 2 Types of Silicone Chin Implant
- a silicone implant without wings or with short wings, suitable for people with minor concerns who want to shape the tip of the chin to be slimmer, smaller or longer and balance their facial proportions, but not suitable for people with a large jaw or a very short chin
- a silicone implant with long wings, which helps shape the chin smoothly and blends along the jawline, suitable for people with facial structure concerns, a round face, sagging cheeks, a short chin, a flat chin or a receding chin
The surgeon assesses and designs the shape of the implant together with you, based on what suits your facial structure, and carves the implant to the shape you want case by case.
Chin Augmentation With the Real Locking Technique
Chin augmentation and chin reshaping with the Real Locking technique. The chin usually settles into shape in about 18 days, depending on each person. The incision is made inside the mouth, so the scar is hidden, and the implant is designed to feel smooth.

The benefit of chin augmentation with an incision inside the mouth, between the lip and the gum, is that the surgeon only needs a small incision of about 2cm. The surgeon separates the tissue along the lower edge of the chin, places the carved silicone implant in the right position and closes the incision with dissolvable stitches, so the stitches do not need to be removed.
Why Choose S45 Clinic for Chin Augmentation
- helps with a short or round face
- a slimmer face shape with the Real Locking technique, which holds the chin implant in place to lower the chance of it moving
- soft, medical-grade silicone with a smooth, seamless surface
- the surgeon designs the shape to suit each person’s facial structure for dimension, softness and balance, using the golden ratio as a reference
- a hidden incision inside the mouth, which supports healing and lowers the chance of a keloid scar on the skin
*Results depend on each person’s underlying structure.
